Adult Content Warning!

Against my better judgement and under protest, I have re-engaged the Adult Content Warning.

I still believe its self-censorship, and makes it so Google... ect, downgrade one's blog in overall search.

The only reason I reinstated it AT ALL is because I've added the word "Porn" to the extended blog name and guessed not doing so might have caused problems with the Google gods.

Yes sometimes I post boobs - However the majority of the time I'm talking about Science Fiction, or my own writing, or books.

PSA over.

Now back to your regular blog!

Returning To Blogger? [Maybe]

Maybe...

Not sure yet. My biggest hang up is still the "Adult Filter" which I feel to be a form of self-censorship.

And who can trust Google, to not adopt a Woke-Puritanical approach at some point? They seem to circle around when it comes to Blogger not able to make up their minds what they wish to allow or not.

All of that being said. I kind of like this new user interface. Streamlined and modern, yet not the clusterfrak that is WordPress's.

Mountain Dew Sweet Lightning

Mountain Dew Sweet Lightning, KFC, Soda, Food, Carbonated Beverage, Mountain Dew, Peach, Honey, Blog, Blogging

Lets get one thing clear. I don't like soda, and avoid carbonated beverages, almost always. Give me juice, tea, coffee, wine. Whatever, just not soda.

Mountain Dew Sweet Lightning is a Mountain Dew flavor released exclusively at KFC (That place we used to call Kentucky Fried Chicken) in 2019.

And it is GLORIOUS!

To be honest, in a perfect world I could do without the carbonation, and would drink this just as a juice of some sort.

I can't put to words exactly how good the combination of peach flavor, laced with honey is to my taste buds. Its like ambrosia to my lips.

PepsiCo would be wise to make this flavor widely available in bottles when they get the chance to go outside their contract with KFC.

Cultural Vandalism | The Ruin of Star Wars and Doctor Who

As I pointed out in my Is It Ethical to Recontextualize Star Trek Canon?, this is a dangerous road we are going down here.
IT IS UNETHICAL, there are proper moments for retcons, but doing so in the service of a political agenda is evil and dangerous.

There's no reason whatsoever to remove William Hartnell as the First Doctor. NONE beyond doing so in a "What if..." none canon violating dream experiment ratings grab.

I said it before, and I will say it here. This is Stalinist in its bold revisionism of the past and should be soundly rejected by all true Geeks across all fandoms wherever it comes about.

Be it in Doctor Who, Star Trek, or Star Wars, and ever other place in-between.

When I say this. I want you to keep something in mind. I write almost exclusively female protagonistsBut they are protagonists in their own right do not exist to rip down the history of male figures. Oh they are also usually (very) flawed. However, we won't talk about the profusion of Mary Sues just now.

For me this is about the preservation of history, as it existed. Spock never had an adopted sister but he does have a half-brother, yes even Gene Roddenberry was wrong to try to paper over Sybok and George Lucas was wrong to stop Han from shooting first

Lets Be Clear: I Hate Google

Why did I create this blog, here?

Archival reasons, and permanence  I loath Google with the power of a billion stars, but I do find Blogspot user friendly.

My forum blog attempt has been becoming a bit of a chore to maintain and I fear it might one day be obliterated. As much as I distrust Google, I do not hold that fear for a Blogspot blog.

So it was this or nothing.

Mmm...

It appears Google has done away with meta summaries for posts.

Odd.
